farming is the major Occupation of Ogume people, they are hard working people with uniqueness.
Ogume Culture
Ogume has a unique culture their culture is as follows:
i. Age group: This age group help individual to know their ages range and where they belong to. In time for celebration every age group gathering together to celebrate as a group this age group share common interests to together.
ii. Family group: Every family in the community to come to for meeting, and share ideas for the benefits of the family and the unity, to promote family unity, and the oldest man in the family is head of the family group.
iii.Tradition leader: Tradition leader this are spirit leader in village which walk with the spiritual welfare of the community. They are the one who involve in anything concern the spirituality of the village. And they person who is always on the front to lead the other he doesn’t matter the age what matters is your level of spirituality.
iv. Community leader: community head (community chairman) this lead of youth leader that control the youth in the community they are the middle man between elders and the youth in the community. They help to speak for the community in time of development of the community. They control the affair of the community.
,V. The king : is the supreme leader of the community above all the people in the community that all have the final say in the community and he is lead this throne is herit from father to son’s.
Ogume have a rich cultural heritage with good ancestral lineage, Ogume people are hardworking people among all the Ukwuani speaking community today because of their hard work this make then unique in Ukwuani land.
