Brief History About Ogume culture
Ogume is a community in Ukwuani land, it is located in Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State in southern part of Nigeria. The people of Ogume speak Ukwani language, they has their own rich cultural heritage in Africa today with strong beliefs.
The Language of Ogume
Ogume people language is Ukwuani they speak the Ukwuani language, Which is the part of the Igboid language group in Nigeria today.
Traditional Rules
The Ogume tradition rules are the elders of Ogume land and the community leader (Community chairman), The oldest man in Ogume community is always their head in all Ogume community. The elders and community leader called (Community chairman or youth chairman), are custodian of the law in Ogume community.

Ogume people practice the Africa religion before Christianity come in which they believe and most of them are still practicing today in Ogume land. But some of people are christian in Ogume land, but Africa religion as not rule out they still respect the Africa religion.

The Ogume people celebration of new yam Festival started with giving thanks to God, and their ancestors for a successful farming season by elders the oldest man there lead the prayers by giving thanks to God and their ancestors after that he eat the yam with elders others follows that is the opening of the new yam celebration in Ogume land. The new yam Festival is a symbol of hard work and prosperity and it is highly respected in Ogume land.
